This intimate backyard wedding was so much fun to shoot. Though the term "backyard" wedding is a bit misleading because this definitely wasn't your typical Southern California backyard. The Spanish style home, located in beautiful Ventura, California, was nestled on the coastal hillside of downtown Ventura, just minutes away from the beach and featuring breathtaking views of the ocean and nearby mountains.

After the bride and groom got ready at their separate locations, we met at the house to begin the ceremony. Lesley had the most beautiful dress from BHLDN, one of my absolute favorites. The ceremony location was in the courtyard, surrounded by beautiful green foliage. I couldn't help but feel excited when I heard Lesley's song for walking down the aisle begin, a song by the band Lydia (another one of my personal favorites)! After the ceremony, we took the bride and groom portraits around the property and I was thrilled with how effortless it was to capture the newlyweds in the comfort of their family home.

The candlelit dinner afterwards was magical and everyone got to enjoy each other's company while taking in the beautiful sunset over the Pacific- making for all the warmth and joy in the images that can't be counterfeited.

Lesley and Billy, thank you for inviting us into this special moment in your life. This day will not ever be forgotten.
