My best recommendation is limiting total groupings to 10 for immediate family photos (this includes the ones chosen above) to ensure we stay organized and that way we keep these less stressful for you as well as for you to relax and enjoy your wedding! For 10 groupings it takes approx. 30 minutes. More than 10 family groupings you'll want to budget 3 minutes per grouping. To help family portraits go more smoothly, I recommend assigning someone from each of your families to help gather members at the scheduled family portrait time. Planning like this speeds everything up considerably!

What are the names of parents, siblings, grandparents, etc. that are listed for family portraits? This will help me when gathering people for fam photos.
Extended Family

Some couples choose to include extended family in the family photos, while others forego that as it can be tricky to wrangle that many people. If you'd like any photos with extended family, I recommend doing one large extended family group shot for the paternal and maternal side (4 large group photos by last names)
If you decide to go this route, please budget 15-20 minutes, depending on the size, usually directly after your ceremony!
